Swissknife drivers#
I have a pack of drivers that spans a bit over a GB, just to flex my wings. I have sen others put in hours/hours/hours of work, total waste of time. That is an effective task but we give it max 1hr, other than that, either re-format or re-image. I probably need to get a 2nd drive for Win 8 as we now have a few users on it, and all are vips.
So even offsite I can re-format the drive and re-image using imagex or dism in about an hour.
Swissknife install#
It also has the install packages for some of our most critical specialty software and network drivers for all of our laptop models. But I also have a large usb drive that will boot into WinPE with a driverless Win 7 image on it with our basic software package. We have a couple of large conferences a year, so I always bring a couple of extra laptops with in case of castrophe. If it's going to take more than 30 minutes to fix, a re-format and re-image is much faster and frankly safer. one with bootable media with all essentials tools and one with windows version, also with all essential tools.įor in the office I have MalwareBytes, Combofix, Rkill and ccCleaner. My reasoning for asking is, it's like having a two way street. I do have it on my USB as a bootable media, but Hiren's also has it setup so it comes with a usable toolkit when used like a normal USB. Speaking of Hiren's Boot CD, do you already have it burned on the USB and use the others as extras when not needed to boot from it?
